Frequently asked questions

  • What is the way of calculating the cost of translation? As a basis for calculating the translation cost we use a standard page containing 2000 characters with spaces. You may find out the number of characters with spaces at Word --> Tools --> Word Count toolbar. Thereafter, knowing the field of translation you may approximately estimate the total cost applying our rates per one standard page. Should you face any problems when counting the characters our managers would be happy to help you.
  • What factors lead to increase of the translation cost? The translation cost depends on the source text field, terms complexity, narrowness of the translation field and urgency. Work on days off and overtime work shall be subject to extra payment.
  • How soon may I get the translation? The average translation rate per one translator is 5 standard pages per day for translation from European languages and 3 standard pages per day for translation into European languages. The Oriental languages translation rate is about 2 standard pages per day.Once such rates are exceeded the rush surcharge of 1.5 to 2.0 is applied. The rush orders also include the orders to be completed on the day of applying. The day on which the order is confirmed is not counted as a first business day. The first business day is a day following the day on which the order is confirmed.
  • Is the agency able to complete a translation meeting tight deadlines? Yes, of course. We have full-time translators in our office translating from/into the major European languages. They translate moderate size texts on the same day. When the translation volume is large we form a team of translators completing an order. Then, the editor proofreads the translation in order to harmonize the terms. However, you should keep in mind that urgency of the text translation may trigger certain discrepancies in style, notwithstanding our efforts to avoid the same. You should also remember that the rush nature of translation doubles its cost.
